High net worth insurance

Richard Stokes niche adviceWhen it comes to high net worth home insurance look beyond the sales gimmicks

Getting home insurance for high net worth properties is an essential part of managing risk and when it comes to finding a suitable cover it is essential that you partner with a specialist within this sector.

It can be easy to fall into the trap of collecting cute mammal soft toys from internet web portals but when you are staking your worldly goods such as your home and its contents you owe it to yourself to do the job properly.

When it comes to insuring properties that are valued over £1 million the insurers are very cautious about the level of risk they are taking on and need reassurance (literally!) and will ask a host of questions. Generally the web portals that advertise across the media are aimed at the masses. It is a one-size fits all approach and by and large it works judging by the millions that are thrown at it. However, when something quirky or different, such as a large, listed or old property is thrown at them they default to the ‘computer says no’ syndrome or worse still provide a solution that is not fit for purpose as their underwriting intelligence capability is limited.

So how do you conduct your research if the insurance does not cater for your needs? Well one solution is to speak to a Specialist Insurer Broker in the field of high net worth insurance solutions. Inevitability their panel of insurers will be greater than you could hope to approach on your own and let them do the leg work for you.

The more reputable Specialist Insurance Brokers will be generating enough business to be content with an introductory fee they receive from the provider but others may charge a fee for their service. At Niche Advice we fall into the former camp and are happy to provide a free Specialist Insurance service provided you are committed to using us. So when it comes to the right level of insurance cover why not speak to us and that way you can be sure that the policy has our endorsement and is fit for purpose and is not a meerkat masquerading in a wavy moustache trying to squeeze a round peg into a square hole.

Cover options for some of our plans include:

  • Cover from £1 Million to £15 Million
  • Buildings and Contents cover (can include enhanced accidental damage cover)
  • A dedicated, personal claims service
  • £100,000 legal expenses as standard

  • Identity Fraud Detection and Assistance Service
  • 0% interest on monthly Direct Debit Payments
  • Art, Antiques and Collectables
  • Covering contents worldwide as standard
  • Second Homes Abroad (mainland France, Spain, Portugal and the Republic of Ireland) – maximum limit applies

AS A MORTGAGE IS SECURED AGAINST YOUR HOME OR PROPERTY, IT COULD BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP THE MORTGAGE REPAYMENTS.

If you are thinking of consolidating existing borrowing you should be aware that you may be extending the terms of the debt and increasing the total amount you repay.
